What Data We Collect

None.

Sparkle is designed from the ground up to be completely private. Because Sparkle processes all data on-device and collects nothing, no personal data is processed on our servers—fulfilling GDPR "Data Minimization" principles by design.

We do not collect:

• Voice recordings
• Transcribed text
• Keystrokes
• Personal information
• Usage analytics
• Device identifiers

How Sparkle Works

Sparkle uses on-device machine learning (WhisperKit) to transcribe your voice to text. All processing happens entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Your voice data never leaves your device.

Full Access Permission

When you enable Sparkle's keyboard, iOS asks for "Full Access." This permission is required for the keyboard extension to communicate with the main Sparkle app for transcription. Despite the scary-sounding name, Sparkle:

• Does NOT log your keystrokes
• Does NOT access your passwords
• Does NOT transmit any data to the internet
• Does NOT store anything outside of your device

The "Full Access" permission is only used to send your voice recording from the keyboard to the main app for on-device transcription, then return the text back to the keyboard.

Transcription History

Sparkle stores your recent transcriptions (last 20) locally on your device only. This is a convenience feature so you can recover a transcription if something goes wrong. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is stored in the app's private container
• Is deleted when you uninstall the app
• Can be cleared manually from the app's settings

Under GDPR, you have the right to delete your data at any time. Since all data is stored locally, you can exercise this right by clearing history in settings or simply uninstalling the app.

Third-Party Services

Sparkle does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not integrate with any cloud services.

Model Downloads

Sparkle downloads AI models from Apple's CDN using iOS On-Demand Resources. This is a standard iOS feature that allows apps to download additional content as needed. The only data transmitted is the request for the model file—no user data is sent.

Children's Privacy

Sparkle does not collect personal information from any users, including those under the age of 16. Since we collect no data whatsoever, Sparkle is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this privacy policy, we will post the changes here and update the "Last updated" date above.
